Tech Firm Expanding, Doubling Work Force in Indiana

07/09/2008
Telamon Corporation, a technology developer and supplier, will expand its international headquarters in Carmel, Indiana, with a $3 million investment to upgrade its technical support, engineering, and logistics operations. More than 250 new jobs are planned, doubling the existing work force of 259, with hiring of managers, engineers, information technology specialists, assemblers, warehouse technicians, and technical support associates expected to begin before the end of the year. "With customers and offices located around the world, we looked at several choices for this new operation and found that investing in Indiana was the best choice for us and our customers," says Albert Chen, CEO of Telamon. The company has been offered up to $1.25 million in performance-based tax incentives by the state of Indiana, along with up to $230,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans. The city of Carmel will also consider tax abatement for the company.
