Newell Rubbermaid Relocating Ink Factory Within Tennessee

08/12/2008
Consumer products manufacturer Newell Rubbermaid will invest $12.5 million to open a new ink factory in Manchester, Tennessee. The Shelbyville Times-Gazette reports that the company will transfer its Sanford Corporation ink operations from its current location in Shelbyville to a newly acquired 60-acre site. Approximately 60 jobs will be created at the new facility, most of which are expected to transfer, with the expectation that additional jobs will be created over the next three years. Construction at Manchester will begin late this year, with operations scheduled to begin in December 2009. This division of Georgia-based Newell Rubbermaid produces ink for such brands as Sharpie and Paper Mate.
