Money's list of America's best small towns
When companies select a location to move to or expand operations, quality-of-life factors often come into play in the final decision. One analysis tool some organizations turn to for advice is Money Magazine’s annual listing of the top 100 places to live, or “America’s best small towns.”
Here are the top 10 locales in for the 2011 rankings:
1. Louisville, CO
2. Milton, MA
3. Solon, OH
4. Leesburg, VA
5. Papillion, NE
6. Hanover, NH
7. Liberty, MO
8. Middleton, WI
9. Mukilteo, WA
10. Chanhassen, MN
All of them, said the magazine, “stand out in the qualities American families care about most - great job opportunities, top-notch schools, safe streets, economic strength, nice weather, plenty to do, and more.”
The rankings also include many other lists. One highlights the counties with the highest percentage job growth (2000-2010):
1. Rockwall County, TX
2. Loudoun County, VA
3. Williamson County, TX
4. Douglas County, CO
5. Hamilton County, IN
6. Delaware County, OH
7. DeSoto County, MS
8. Utah County, UT
9. Ascension Parish, LA
10. Campbell County, WY
