Financial Services Giant Expanding in Indiana

08/18/2008
Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., a leading provider of financial services, will expand its regional client service center in Indianapolis, Indiana, with an investment of more than $25 million. The Indiana governor's office reports that the California-headquartered company will relocate its current site in Fishers, Indiana, and create 300 new jobs as part of the move, which is expected to take place in early 2010; the company currently employs 800 people at Fishers. Hiring will begin for new managers, registered securities brokers, client service representatives, and information technology specialists in the fourth quarter of 2009. The state has offered Schwab up to $3.45 million in performance-based tax credits and up to $375,000 in job training grants. The city of Indianapolis will provide a 10-year period of real and personal property tax abatement.
