First Priority Global Plans Manufacturing Center in Flanders, New Jersey
08/31/2017
Located less than 50 miles outside New York City, the plant will primarily serve as the new home of the company's Conversion Division. In addition, the location will serve as a final stage manufacturing facility for Electric School Buses and other electric vehicles for the company's First Priority GreenFleet Division. Lastly the location will be a service center for Fire Trucks and Ambulances for the company's EMS Division.
According to company officials, FPG's Conversion Division is one of the largest upfitters of emergency command vehicles, providing custom solutions to law enforcement, Fire, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and commercial customers throughout the US.
The Conversion Division upfits vehicles (such as SUV's, pickup trucks, box trucks and Sprinters) from stock OEM chassis to command vehicles, mobile offices, deployment trucks, Light Rescue and Police Emergency Service Units (S.W.A.T.).
"We are very appreciative for the confidence our New York City, municipal and commercial customers have placed in us," stated Chairman & CEO, Alex Cherepakhov. "As our backlog of orders has continued to substantially grow while operating at capacity, it gave us the confidence to invest in doubling the size of our current Northern New Jersey facility. We look forward to serving more of our customers' needs while maintaining the same personal service that they have become accustomed to."
