09/13/2007
Aisin Automotive Casting Tennessee, Inc. has broken ground on a $67 million expansion of its Clinton, Tennessee, facility, with plans to double the size of its current manufacturing operations to 480,000 square feet. In announcing the expansion, state officials projected up to 160 new jobs would be created at full production, adding to the company's current Tennessee work force of 400. "Aisan's experience in Tennessee has been a very positive one," says Masaharu Goto, the company's president. "[State and local officials] have worked with us to create the best climate for growth and the announcement of this expansion is proof that our operations here are indeed successful." The Tennessee division is a subsidiary of the Japanese company Aisan Industry Co. Ltd.; it is one of the world's top-10 suppliers of auto compoents.
