Alfmeier Friedrichs & Rath Expands Greenville, South Carolina, Factory Plant
09/16/2016
Located at 120 Elcon Drive in Greenville, the company will be expanding their factory floor by 20,000 square feet and their office facility by approximately 10,000 square feet. The expansion is projected to be complete by the second quarter of 2017.
“AFR is pleased to be expanding operations in Greenville to accommodate our increasing business. Our success is a direct result of the dedication and hard work of all of our associates, particularly those on the factory floor who strive to do things a little better each day. We are proud to be part of a community and state that recognizes and supports the benefits of manufacturing and look forward to continued future growth,” AFR President Markus Farrenkopf said.
Established in 1993, AFR is a developer and manufacturer of automotive components with a concentration on fuel management, vacuum support and seating comfort solutions. Featuring in-house plastic injection molding and custom assembly and test systems, the company employs more than 500 employees and utilizes 32 injection molding machines across three locations.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved a $250,000 Set-Aside grant to Greenville County to assist with the costs of site improvements.
“It’s always exciting when we are able to celebrate the success of a South Carolina company and its decision to expand here. The 50 new jobs that this $5.8 million investment means for Greenville County will really make a difference in the lives of South Carolinians, and that’s a reason to celebrate throughout the entire state,” said Governor Nikki Haley.
