Truck Parts Manufacturer Expanding in North Carolina

09/25/2008
Triangle Suspension Systems, a manufacturer of springs for medium and heavy-duty trucks, will invest $6.2 million to open a manufacturing plant in Mount Olive, North Carolina, according to the North Carolina governor's office. The company expects to create 102 new jobs over the next three years as part of the project. The Mount Olive plant will manufacture heavy-duty aftermarket suspension springs and will be the only plant in the United States making this type of product. "North Carolina ranked first or second in 10 out of 11 categories we evaluated in six states," says John Howard, president of Triangle Suspension Systems. "The incentive package was a very important consideration, as well as suitable buildings and the support of the local community with identification, selection, and training of qualified employees." Incentives offered to the Pennsylvania-headquartered company include a $100,000 grant from the state that requires matching funds from a local agency.
