3001 International Inc., a subsidiary of defense contractor Northrop Grumman, will invest $4 million to construct a new facility for its operations in Slidell, Louisiana, according to the Louisiana governor's office. The new building will combine the company's geospatial solutions operations from its current Slidell and Stennis Space Center facilities. "This new building.will provide for future growth through new jobs and allow us to better partner with customers we support here in the local area and other areas around the country as well," says John Olesak, a Northrop Grumman vice president. 3001 International uses geospatial technologies to provide land surveying and mapping data and analysis to civilian, government intelligence, and defense customers. The Times-Picayune of New Orleans reports that the company will receive $722,000 over 10 years in payroll rebates from the state, contingent on job creation.
