Ameron Selects Tulsa, Oklahoma, for $35M Steel Pole Plant

01/25/2011
Ameron is building a 75,000-square-foot facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma, that will produce steel poles, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports. The company, which is based in Pasadena, California, is targeting the transportation and infrastructure industry with the expansion.

"We're already in the traffic signal market, but we're a niche player, not a strong player," said John Szabo, who leads Ameron's Poles Product Division. "This will help us grow so we can become a national player in the market."

The company will invest $35 million in the facility. The poles will be used in highway lighting and signs, traffic signal controls, light rail, and smart grid structures.
