Oldcastle Lawn and Garden, a maker of architectural products for landscape design, is investing $625,000 and creating at least 30 jobs in Gaffney, South Carolina. The company will add equipment to expand production of bagged wood chip and mulch products.

"Oldcastle is a thriving company that promotes growth and excellence in standards of safety, quality, and production. We are excited to be in Cherokee County and look forward to growing together in community spirit," said David H. Blanton, plant manager for Oldcastle Lawn and Garden.

The expansion is slated to begin by the end of the year, with hiring beginning in spring 2011. The Gaffney Workforce Center will facilitate hiring.
