Green Insulation Manufacturer to Locate Facility in Pennsylvania

10/23/2009
FiberAmerica, a startup company that manufactures insulation and mulch from recycled newspaper, will invest $5.5 million to locate a facility in Upper Macungie Township, Pennsylvania, according to the Pennsylvania governor's office. The company, which plans to create 53 new jobs over the next three years, has leased a 61,000-square-foot plant and has already begun initial operations. "The Lehigh Valley is the perfect location for us to distribute our cellulose fiber insulation line, as it is centrally located in the Northeast and provides easy access for international distribution," says David A. Johnson, FiberAmerica's president. "With our experienced team and state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, our Green Seal insulation will provide the consistency and quality that installers and building inhabitants need." The state has provided the company with a $1.5 million incentive package that includes a $50,000 grant, a 41.3 million loan, $23,850 in job training assistance, and $106,000 in job creation tax credits.
