Kimberly-Clark Bumps $25M Conway, Arkansas, Investment to More Than $65M

11/01/2010
Kimberly-Clark, which announced an expansion in Conway, Arkansas, in July, has increased the scope of its project plans. The company, which originally committed $25 million to the facility, has increased its investment to more than $65 million, and will create 100 new jobs.

"Our Conway team is extremely excited by the opportunities this additional expansion brings to our site. We all realize the improvement that this expansion makes in our long-term competitive position," said John Pownall, Kimberly-Clark Conway facility manager. "We will increase the scope and scale of our operation, resulting in additional jobs and enhancing our long-term competitive position in Kimberly-Clark."

The larger expansion will increase capacity for Kimberly-Clark to produce goods that it currently manufactures outside the United States. Incentives included city industrial revenue bonds. The city of Conway, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, and the Conway Development Corporation partnered on the incentives package.
