Smucker's Expanding Kentucky Plant for Waffle Snack Production

02/13/2009
Food manufacturer J.M. Smucker Company will invest $3 million to expand its facility in Scottsville, Kentucky, according to the Kentucky governor's office. The project will involve adding an additional production line to make the company's Hungry Jack Snack'n Waffles, a handheld convenience item. Approximately 25 new jobs are planned with the expansion. "The addition of the new Snack'n Waffles line to our Scottsville facility will allow us to better meet the needs of our consumers while continuing to grow the successful operation already in place there," says Maribeth Badertscher, the company's director of corporate communications. "We are pleased to be adding these 25 new jobs and to continuing to build our strong partnership with Scottsville and Allen County." The state has approved $550,000 in tax incentives as part of the project.
