Trailer Manufacturer Opening Manufacturing and Distribution Facility in Georgia

Big Tex Manufacturing, a builder of utility and livestock trailers, will invest $7 million to open a new manufacturing and distribution facility in Cordele, Georgia, according to the Georgia governor's office. The project is expected to create 130 new jobs over the next three years. "We are really excited about being able to better serve our current dealers and reach new ones in the eastern part of the country with faster deliveries and lower prices," says Ricky Baker, president and CEO of Big Tex. "A ready and capable work force, the enthusiasm of the community of Cordele, and the big welcome from the state of Georgia give us even more confidence that this is the right decision and the right time." The Texas-headquarted company has purchased two buildings totaling 174,000 square feet and expects to begin distribution operations this spring and manufacturing operations during the fourth quarter. The governor's office did not release information about financial incentives.
