03/29/2013
Constantia Hueck Foils LLC, an Austria-based manufacturer of foil- and film-based packaging, will invest $12 million to expand its current production facility in Richland County, South Carolina, with plans to generate 15 new jobs.

Based in Vienna, Austria, the firm specializes in the development and production of high-performance, flexible and innovative packaging for the pharmaceutical and food industries. The firm will expand its Northpoint production facility, located at 1111 Northpoint Blvd. in Blythewood, South Carolina, adding 15,000 square feet of space as well as additional equipment. A local contractor has been selected, and construction of the facility addition is expected to begin in April and be completed by October.

“We are excited about the opportunity to expand our operations in the Midlands. This expansion will allow us to increase our capacity and better serve our customers. South Carolina has been a perfect fit for our operations, provided a positive economic environment and a talented workforce. We appreciate the support we’ve received from state and local officials,” said Steve Godwin, president of Constantia Hueck Foils.

“It is always exciting to see another international company decide to expand its presence in the Palmetto State. We celebrate Constantia Hueck Foils’ decision to invest $12 million and create 15 new jobs in Blythewood. Announcements like this one not only show our economic development efforts are on the right track, but also send a signal to companies around the globe that South Carolina is a place where businesses grow and prosper,” said Gov. Nikki Haley.

“South Carolina’s manufacturing sector continues to create wealth and jobs. Constantia Hueck Foils decision to expand operations here in the Midlands is another sign our manufacturing renaissance is continuing. Every one of these jobs will have an impact,” said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.
