Subsidiary of Taiwan-Based Electronics Company to Locate Distribution Center in Texas

03/31/2009
Q-Edge, an electronics assembly company and subsidiary of Taiwan-based Foxconn Electronics, will locate an assembly and distribution center in Fort Worth Texas. The Fort Worth Business Press reports that the project could bring as many as 500 new jobs to the region in exchange for a tax abatement from the city worth approximately $158,850. Indiana-headquartered Q-Edge plans to lease 365,440 square feet of space in an existing building. "We appreciate all that Fort Worth has to offer and look forward to being in this community a long time," says company spokesperson Wen Ren, quoted in the Press. "We believe that many competitive traits of Fort Worth, namely its central location within the United States, advanced transportation infrastructure, low cost of living and doing business, and ready access to a highly educated and skilled work force, will help us achieve significant competitive advantages and lead to long-term success for our company." The city council is scheduled to vote next month to finalize the incentives.
