Nebraska Door Manufacturer Expanding, Adding Jobs
Area Development Online News Desk (04/16/2009)
Covenant Doors & Millwork, Inc., a manufacturer of custom wood doors, will invest $1.4 million to expand its facility in Central City, Nebraska, according to Nebraska.tv, the website of KHGI-TV and KWNB-TV. The company plans to add 25 jobs as part of the project. The expansion is taking place through a strategic partnership with SunHeat, a Nebraska-based manufacturer of portable heaters and fireplaces. Rather than purchasing its custom cabinetry from China, SunHeat will now work with Covenant Doors and is providing financial assistance toward the expansion investment. Mechelle Williams, owner of Covenant Doors, says the investment will be used to purchase state-of-the-art equipment and for working capital. The state is awarding the company a grant of $406,000 to expand its 15,000-square-foot plant.
