Biomet Paves Way for $26M Warsaw, Indiana Expansion

07/12/2010
Biomet is investing $26 million in a Warsaw, Indiana facility and creating 280 jobs, the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette reports. The orthopedic device maker is asking for economic development area status for the expansion area, a first step towards receiving tax abatement.

"It's just one of those success stories that everybody would like to have," Kosciusko County Council President Harold Jones told the Gazette.

The company plans to renovate its facility, purchase new equipment, and add jobs over two years.

Warsaw is home to a cluster of orthopedic device makers, including Zimmer and DePuy Orthopedics.
