Candy Manufacturer Investing $5.3 Million for North Carolina Expansion

Candy manufacturer BestSweet Inc. will invest $5.3 million to expand its operations in Mooresville, North Carolina, according to the Mooresville Tribune. The company plans to construct a 40,000-square-foot addition to its existing 100,000-square-foot facility to allow for the extension of product lines to increase capacity. BestSweet will create 15 new jobs along with the project. "We have been, and will continue to be, a company committed to growth, and we are very pleased with the help, support, and cooperation we have received from the Town of Mooresville and Iredell County over the past 21 years." The company manufactures candy, throat lozenges, and cough drops under the brand names Baskin Robbins Candy and Bee M.D. The Charlotte Business Journal reports that the company has been awarded $210,000 in local incentives for the expansion.
