Chinese companies are setting their sights on U.S. soil for new factories, Businessweek reports. Suntech Power Holdings is already making solar panels in a 117,000-square-foot facility in Goodyear, Arizona. The facility qualifies the company for some "Buy American" provisions, and lends it proximity to U.S. customers. Next year, it will double its work force to 150 people.

While American companies have moved offshore to Chinese locations for years now, the trend is beginning to reverse.

"It's a little unusual to see it coming the other way," says Wei Tai Kwok, Suntech's vice-president for marketing.
