Chang Chun Arizona, a leading petrochemical supplier based in Taiwan, started construction on its first U.S. electronic grade chemical manufacturing facility for semiconductor chips in Casa Grande, Arizona. The $300 million project is expected to create 200 jobs.

The new facility will produce electronic-grade hydrogen peroxide, tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH)-based developers, electronic-grade solution and plating solution. Operations are planned for 2023. The company will start site development activities over the next few months and will start supplying wafer fabrication facilities in 2024. The facility will be fully built out in 2025 with opportunities for future expansion.

“Chang Chun Arizona is incredibly grateful for the warm welcome extended by the entire State of Arizona,” said Yu-hung (Calvin) Su, President of Chang Chun Arizona. “By establishing our new facility in Arizona, this is a significant milestone in CCAZ’s expansion into the U.S. We are ready to meet the growing demand of the semiconductor industry in Arizona and throughout the U.S. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with the State of Arizona as well as contributing to the economic and environmental sustainability of the local community.”

Chang Chun Group was established in 1949 in Taipei, Taiwan and is one of the leading chemical companies in Taiwan with around $8 billion in annual revenue in 2020.

“Today’s groundbreaking demonstrates Arizona’s attractiveness as a global semiconductor leader,” noted Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA). “Chang Chun Arizona’s new facility bolsters our already vibrant semiconductor supply chain while creating new, high-tech jobs in Pinal County. We are grateful for Chang Chun Arizona’s commitment to Casa Grande and are excited to see the facility operational.”

“The addition of Chang Chun Arizona strengthens the Greater Phoenix semiconductor supply chain by providing materials essential to the chip manufacturing process," added Chris Camacho, President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. "CCAZ’s decision to open its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Greater Phoenix bolsters the region’s position as a top destination for semiconductor manufacturers globally and is a major investment that will provide hundreds of new high-wage jobs to our community.”
