Information management and electronic commerce company Fiserv will invest $4.9 million to open a new location in Hickory, North Carolina, according to the North Carolina governor's office. The Wisconsin-headquartered company plans to create 419 new jobs with an average annual wage of $25,368 plus benefits. "Hickory offers the resources we need, including the skilled labor to staff our current operation and the ability to expand to meet our company's future needs," says Jardon Bouska, Fiserv's division president. Fiserv provides financial services companies, banks, and credit unions with such services as online banking, lending processing and data processing. The new facility is expected to be operational in February 2010. The state will provide an $800,000 grant to the company, contingent on job creation, that must be matched by local governments.
