Area Development
Pristine Pharma Corp. is relocating its manufacturing to Massena, New York, the Watertown Daily Times reports. The company is expected to create up to 100 jobs, according to CEO Venkat E. Kakani. Pristine has headquarters in Prospect Park, New Jersey.

"We like the building," Kakani said. "It can be quickly converted into a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility."

Pristine is hiring chemists, pharmacists, skilled engineers, and assembly, packaging, warehousing, and distribution workers. The company produces liquid medicines for store brands and its NuMed brand, including cough syrup and pain relievers.

Massena's location near Canada and access to the St. Lawrence Seaway attracted Pristine, which serves Canadian store brands and markets in Russia and Ukraine.
