Cosmetics company Coty is investing $12 million to expand manufacturing at its Sanford, North Carolina, facility. The firm, which makes lotions and fragrances in Sanford, will create 140 new jobs in the beginning of 2011, the News Observer reports.

Coty will receive approximately $280,000 in local and Lee County incentives towards job attraction. Some of the workers may come from a Coty plant in Rocky Point that is closing, laying off 97 people.

The company plans to add a nail polish production line as part of the expansion. Coty is based in New York.
