Area Development
Molina Healthcare, a managed care service provider, opened its new office facility at 4105 Faber Place Drive in North Charleston, South Carolina. The new facility is expected to support 150 jobs in the Charleston County area.

The firm provides health services to financially vulnerable families and individuals covered by government programs, such as Medicaid and Medicare. Molina Healthcare can begin offering health coverage to lower-income families and individuals in South Carolina starting January 1.

”We are excited to open our newest health plan in the great State of South Carolina,” said Tom Lindquist, President of Molina Healthcare of South Carolina. “We are looking forward to working closely with the state’s Health and Human Services, local providers and community organizations to provide high-quality care to our members here.”

“We welcome Molina Healthcare of South Carolina as a new health care provider in the state and commend their mission of serving those in our communities who need it most,” said Gov. Nikki Haley. “We celebrate the creation of an additional 150 jobs in Charleston County.”

“South Carolina has shown that it’s just right for businesses of all kinds, whether they’re building high-performance automobiles or providing health care services,” said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt. “We welcome Molina Healthcare’s operations to South Carolina as a means of enhancing our communities and supporting jobs in the Lowcountry.” The company hired 125 personnel in the past year for the North Charleston facility, with plans to add another 25 positions in the near future.

“We are pleased to welcome Molina Healthcare to the region,” said Bob Whitten, Charleston Regional Development Alliance Board Chairman. “MUSC, the BCD Council of Governments’ SC Works Trident system, readySC’s customized training programs, and our region’s concentration of health care professionals were critical factors in Molina’s’ decision to locate here. The company will be an asset to our community.”

“Congratulations to Molina Healthcare on the establishment of its new North Charleston facility,” said Teddie Pryor, Chairman of Charleston County Council. “One of the key concerns in any community is its quality of life, and nothing is more fundamental to that quality of life than good health care for its citizens. The presence of Molina Healthcare will multiply the number of health care insurance options for the citizens of the greater Charleston area, and in fact, the entire State of South Carolina. Charleston County welcomes this development, and stands ready to support the company as a partner now and in the years to come.”
