Area Development
Man Industries, a pipe manufacturer based in India, will construct a new manufacturing facility and corporate headquarters on a 162-acre site at the Little Rock Port in Arkansas. The company plans to invest US$100 million in the facility, which will employ 250 people at full production. It will serve as the Man Industries headquarters for North and South America. "Man is committed long-term to strengthening infrastructure in this region so as to serve the fast-growing American market," says Ramesh Mansukhani, chairperson of Man Industries. The Little Rock facility is expected to produce 300,000 tons of HSAW (helical submerged arc welded) pipes annually, primarily for use in the petroleum industry. Production should begin in early 2009.
