Food processor Monogram Comfort Foods will invest nearly $7 million to expand its production and distribution center in Muncie, Indiana, according to the the Indiana governor's office. The company, which specializes in perishable meat products, will add 50 jobs for line workers and supervisors as it steps up its production to approximately 250,000 per day at the facility. "The tremendous labor force and the central location of Muncie make this facility a great addition to our perishable plants in the U.S.," says Steve Hofford, Monogram Comfort Foods' vice president and general manager. "The level of dedication of the people in Muncie and Delaware County will help us grow this business exponentially in the coming months and years." Monogram plans to begin hiring for the new positions next month. The state has offered the Tennessee-headquartered company up to $225,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $36,000 in training grants contingent on job creation; the city will also provide tax abatement.
