Sweden-based Bulten AB, one of the leading suppliers of fasteners to the international automotive industry, will invest $4.3 million to locate a production plant in Streetsboro, Ohio.

According to JobsOhio, the company’s product range includes everything from customer-specific standard products to customized special fasteners. The company, which committed to creating 35 jobs, also provides technical development, line-feeding, logistics, material and production expertise.

Bulten North America, which considered how to significantly expand its U.S. manufacturing footprint, already has a facility located in northeast Ohio in Hudson, near Akron. State officials said Bulten chose a facility in the city of Streetsboro, also in northeast Ohio, to accommodate its growth.

“Ohio is well located geographically for the U.S. automotive industry. We look forward to use Streetsboro for our future expansion in North America,” said Anders Nyström, CEO, Bulten.

State economic development officials noted “coupled with geographical proximity to other large automotive hubs, companies like Bulten have easy market access. Ohio has deep roots in the automotive industry and a proven reputation as an industry leader. The state’s industry consists of the full automotive supply chain in all areas of development to take automotive concepts from ideation to deployment.”
