FedEx Ground is building a $15 million distribution hub in Lebanon, Ohio, expected to create an estimated 130 jobs in the state's southwest region.

FedEx Ground officials said Lebanon's Commerce Center on Henkle Drive was chosen as the site for its newest 175,000-square-foot package sorting and distribution center, because of its centralized location near major transportation routes. Lebanon, located where US 42 and SR 48 meet, lies between Dayton to the north and Cincinnati to its south, with Interstate 75 to the west and Interstate 71 in the east.

Lebanon Chamber of Commerce officials said the facility is scheduled to open next summer. According to the Lebanon Chamber of Commerce, City Manager Pat Clements said; "This is a conversion of a field from one that grows crops to one that grows jobs. Lebanon's historic downtown is its heart and soul, but its five industrial parks and the companies that make them up are what drive the community and contribute to the high quality of life its resident's experience."

As in incentive the city allocated $1.3 million from its Tax Increment Financing budget to fund roadway infrastructure improvements for the new center.
