AIT Laboratories will open a new headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana, creating up to 160 new jobs within the next four years. The health care company will invest $74 million to purchase and equip the 90,000-square-foot headquarters. It will also build a toxicology lab adjacent to the space.

"Due to our tremendous growth over the past three years, we have quickly outgrown our current location on the city's southwest side," said Michael A. Evans, Ph.D., AIT president and chief executive officer. "Just this year, AIT has added more than 100 employees after increasing our workforce by nearly 180 in 2009."

AIT will receive up to $1.8 million in tax credits from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. The city of Indianapolis and Develop Indy will also offer tax increment financing to support the expansion.

AIT specializes in compliance monitoring, forensics, clinical, and pharmaceutical testing for clients ranging from law enforcement to physicians. It will hire lab professionals and business administrators.
