Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer is planning to build a facility at the Melbourne International Airport in Melbourne, Florida. In giving its final approval to the deal, the Melbourne City Council has announced additional incentives being offered to the company that will bring the total to more than $13 million, as reported by multiple news sources. The project, which is expected to bring at least 200 jobs with an average annual salary of $50,000, will include a 149,500-square-foot sales and manufacturing facility for the company's Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 light jets. FloridaToday.com reports that the Melbourne city attorney says certain incentives will be granted as conditions are met by the company, including "the bulk" of the building being constructed.
