Sanofi Pasteur, global manufacturer of pharmaceutical products and vaccines, has completed construction on a new, 140,000-square-foot facility at its Swiftwater, Pennsylvania, campus in the Pocono Mountains region. The $150 million investment will create approximately 100 new jobs and double the company's influenza vaccine manufacturing capability in the United States. Company officials have characterized the new positions as well-paying while declining to release the actual projected salaries. Sanofi Pasteur already has more than 2,000 employees at the Switfwater campus. Production of influenza vaccine at the new facility is expected to begin by the end of next year.
