Telecommunications giant AT&T will move its corporate headquarters to Dallas, Texas, from its current location in San Antonio. The move will begin in the coming weeks and is expected to be completed around the end of the year. The company expects to relocate approximately 700 of 6,000 San Antonio-based positions to the new Dallas location. "Being headquartered in Dallas will benefit our long-term growth prospects and human resources needs, and our ability to operate more efficiently, better serve customers, and expand the business in the future," says Randall Stephenson, AT&T chair and CEO. The move will put the headquarters operation in closer proximity to key technology suppliers and other telecom companies. The company will maintain its Telecom Operations group at the San Antonio location.
