Area Development
Orion Energy Systems, a designer and manufacturer of energy management systems, will expand a manufacturing facility in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and move its corporate headquarters to that location as part of a $13 million investment. Approximately 170 new jobs will be created and 115 existing positions will be retained through the project. The new headquarters facility is expected to include a technology management, demonstration, and training center for the company's products and services, which consist primarily of high-performance, energy-efficient lighting systems. The project "will further position Orion to aggressively grow our business, provide quality jobs, and promote energy efficiency," says Neal Verfuerth, Orion's president and CEO. The state will provide tax credits of $854,500 to the company.
