Lear Corporation, a manufacturer of seating and electric parts for automobiles, will invest $10.8 million to build a new plant in Greer, South Carolina, according to the Associated Press. The project is expected to create at least 140 new jobs. The Michigan-based company will supply auto seats to the BMW plant in Spartanburg. In Pawley's Island, South Carolina, Turnstyle Enterprises, a manufacturer of manual and automatic gate mounting systems, will invest $800,000 to locate a new manufacturing facility, according to South Carolina Commerce. At least 37 new jobs are planned. "Georgetown County offers us a strong work force and an excellent quality of life," says Edward Stull, the company's president. "We appreciate the efforts made by state and local officials to support our operations." Turnstyle's headquarters and sales offices are currently located in nearby Georgetown. No details were released on incentives for either project.
