Textron Inc., a multi-industry company with interests in aircraft manufacturing and financial services, will build a new facility in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico, that will manufacture assemblies and parts for the Bell 429 commercial helicopter. According to company officials, completed work from the Mexico facility will be shipped to the company's Canadian manufacturing operation for final assembly. The Rhode Island-headquartered company plans to employ approximately 375 people at the new plant. "Chihuahua offers Textron an outstanding industrial environment in which to do business," says Siisi Adu-Gyamfi, the company's senior vice president, international and marketing. "We continue to be impressed with its talented labor force, as well as its strategic northern Mexico location." The company did not announce a specific location for the new facility or a projected completion date.
