Movement Mortgage, one of the fastest growing mortgage lenders in the country, is expanding its existing corporate headquarters at Bailes Ridge Corporate Park on Highway 160 in the Indian Land unincorporated area of north Lancaster County, South Carolina.
The company expects to invest $18 million to construct an additional 91,000-square-foot building that will accommodate continued growth and create more than 700 new jobs over the next five years. As an incentive, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to the project.
“This hiring and expansion is going to help drive our business forward as we continue to lead a Movement of Change in the mortgage industry, corporate culture and our communities. Once again, Governor Haley and the State of South Carolina have proven to be great partners in creating a business-friendly climate that promotes growth and a spirit of partnership between the government and the private sector,” Movement Mortgage CEO & Co-Founder Casey Crawford said.
“Movement Mortgage has been an incredible partner to our state since its doors opened in Lancaster County two years ago. This $18 million investment, and the 700 jobs it means for Lancaster, shows that Movement Mortgage is committed to our state and its people, and we couldn’t be more excited to see this fantastic company continue to grow and thrive here for a very long time,” said Governor Nikki Haley.
“Lancaster County is very excited that Movement Mortgage will expand its headquarters in Indian Land. In just over a year, they have become one of the county’s leading corporate facility operations and have exceeded their initial projection for jobs and investment. The county council thanks Movement Mortgage for their new commitment to our community, as well as the state and county economic development team that worked with them to get it done,” Lancaster County Council Chairman Steve Harper noted.
“This was a very competitive project with other states. Movement Mortgage’s decision to double the size of its Lancaster County operation speaks volumes about the state and county’s excellent business climate. The Indian Land area has emerged as one of the top locations for headquarters facilities in the Carolinas and Southeast, and it’s the success of companies like Movement Mortgage that have led the way. Movement Mortgage’s expansion is fantastic news for Lancaster County, the Charlotte region and South Carolina,” Lancaster County Economic Development Director Jamie Gilbert explained.
