WindTamer is expanding its facility in Rochester, New York, with state and local incentives of approximately $1.5 million. The company will also create at least 91 jobs in the next five years and retain its existing employees.

"WindTamer has made the decision to prepare for demand for our wind turbines and renewable energy storage and management systems by first expanding our capabilities at our headquarters and manufacturing facility located in Rochester, New York. Rochester offers an experienced work force and, combined with the support offered by the state, city, and county, we are eager to proceed," said WindTamer CEO William Schmitz.

The company will receive $900,000 in tax credits from Empire State Development's Excelsior Jobs Program. The Monroe County Department of Planning and Development has also pledged up to $400,000 in aid through programs including a sales tax incentive and low interest loans.
