Standard Candy Co. Inc. is relocating manufacturing operations from
Eastman, Georgia, to the company's headquarters in Nashville,
Tennessee, bringing about 250 jobs to Middle Tennessee. The move is
scheduled to take place by April. "For several months, we have been
looking at all our options in order to position the company for future
growth," said Standard's CEO James Spradley Jr. "We
believe this is the best overall decision for Standard."
Standard's Nashville plant currently employs more than 300 workers in
management and production line positions. The facility will be expanded
to accommodate the influx of workers.
