The official opening of Pinnacle Foods Group's 17,000-sq.-ft. expansion to its Fort Madison, Iowa, canned meat factory is being celebrated along with the addition of 65 jobs to the city's workforce. As a result of the project, over 80 products have been added to the plant's existing production portfolio of Armour canned meats and chili.

Pinnacle Foods made a $20 million capital investment to expand the facility, upgrade infrastructure, and install new manufacturing equipment.

The Parsippany, NJ-based company is a leader in the shelf stable and frozen foods segments, and employs more than 4,300 people in North America.

"We are excited to support the growth of our company by expanding production in Fort Madison," said Bryan Langerud, plant manager. "The State of Iowa and the City of Fort Madison were critical to our successful expansion and we thank them for their support over the past year."
