Peavey Electronics, a maker of musical equipment, gear, and accessories, is creating up to 100 jobs in Meridian, Mississippi, the Clarion-Ledger reports. The company recently purchased hard assets and intellectual property from a Louisiana guitar manufacturer, and will move its equipment to the Meridian facility.

The Mississippi Development Authority worked with Peavey and local officials to qualify the project for the Job Protection Grant program.

Peavey provides audio communications for government installations, theme parks, stadiums, and buildings including the Sydney Opera House, U.S. Capitol Building, and the Beijing Airport.
