Area Development
Reich GmbH, a German auto part manufacturer, has selected Asheville, North Carolina, for the site of a new production facility. The company will invest $33 million and create 79 jobs over five years. The One North Carolina Fund has extended the company a $175,000 grant.

"Reich GmbH is very excited to expand its operations to the United States with the establishment of Reich, LLC in North Carolina," says Christian Helfricht, general manager of Reich LLC. "The Asheville area is centered among many of the top U.S. automotive suppliers, and North Carolina's commitment to a strong business climate and job growth makes this state the best choice to locate our new facility."

Reich produces gears and gear parts for transmissions, fuel injection systems, and other car and truck precision parts. It also produces ball bearings for power drills and office furniture. The company has headquarters in Mellrichstadt, Germany.
