SpanTech, a manufacturer of custom conveyor systems used in the frozen food, baked goods, beverage and pharmaceutical industries, will invest $3.8 million to add 55,500 square feet to its production facility and purchase new equipment as part of the expansion in Glasgow, Kentucky.

The company, which currently employs 66 people at its Glasgow facility at 1115 Cleveland Avenue, plans to add a new sorting division to support and diversify its customer base in the warehouse and distribution markets.

"We are committed to building the best conveyor and sortation systems possible; it's more than a goal, it's how we do business. There is no limit to the growth we can achieve, because there are no limits to the human content and innovation of this company."

As an incentive to encourage the investment and job growth in Glasgow, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority preliminarily approved the company for tax incentives up to $500,000 through the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based incentive allows a company to keep a portion of its investment over the term of the agreement through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments by meeting job and investment targets.
