Sandhills Publishing, an information processing company, completed construction on a new 21,000, square IT facility, known as the Binary Building, on the company's 68-acre main campus in Lincoln, Nebraska.

According to the firm the additional space, which will house 122 employees, accommodates a growing staff of Web, mobile, and database developers, as well as user interface designers, network administrators, and other IT personnel. The company's diverse mix of cloud-based technology services and platform-agnostic mobile solutions helps businesses analyze markets, manage customers and inventory, measure return on investment and simplify workflow.

Sandhills has recently turned its attention to organizing existing resources into a single user-friendly platform (known as the Sandhills Cloud), and will continue advancing new products including RentalYard (an online marketplace for rental equipment), FleetEvaluator (an asset valuation tool), and MarketTrends (a market analysis resource that serves a number of industries), officials explained.

Its new Binary Building is constructed largely of recycled and reclaimed materials; Like its adjacent Data Center (constructed in 2012), the design of the Binary Building includes state-of-the-art technologies that increase water and energy efficiencies using features like light harvesting and motion sensors that control plumbing and electricity. The facility's heating and cooling system utilizes a closed-loop geothermal well field, which is confirmed by the EPA to be one of the most advanced and energy efficient designs in the world.
