Sims-Lohman, Inc. a granite countertop manufacturer and cabinet distributor, will invest $2 million to expand its Zionsville, Indiana, operations center, creating up to 32 new jobs by 2015.

The Cincinnati-headquartered company plans to purchase and equip a 57,000 square-foot facility located at 7113 Mayflower Park Drive. The new facility, which will be fully operational this month, will include a showroom for the company's product lines as well as stone fabrication production space. The firm, which currently has 22 full-time employees in Zionsville, has already begun hiring additional fabricators, installers and sales associates.

"Our company is enjoying sizable sales growth in central Indiana," said John Beiersdorfer, President of Sims-Lohman. "We are excited to have this opportunity to grow with our professional customers, who are experiencing increasing demand compared to recent years. This growth gives us expanded opportunities to take full advantage of the skilled workforce available in Indiana."

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Sims-Lohman, Inc. up to $150,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans. These incentives are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. In addition, the town of Zionsville supports this project at the request of the Boone County Economic Development Corporation.
