Wieland Designs Inc. has announced it will expand its operations in Elkhart County, Indiana, and create up to 120 new jobs by 2015. About 35 of the positions will be filled later this month. Over the next three years, the manufacturer will invest $1 million to improve its existing 210,000-sq.-ft. facility and purchase additional machinery.

Founded in 1976, the privately held company designs, engineers and manufactures furniture and transportation interior components for the health-care, corporate, residential, automotive and airline industries.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Wieland Designs up to $1.3 million in performance-based tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants based on its job creation plans. The city of Goshen will consider additional property tax abatement.
