Plantation Patterns Furniture Co. is adding 100 jobs in Selma, Alabama, over the next three years, the Selma Times-Journal reports. The company will invest more than $1 million to purchase a 54,000-square-foot facility and lease a 94,000-square-foot site to be used for distribution and warehousing.

"This vertical expansion will keep us competitive in a global market place while bringing additional jobs to the community," said company General Manager Andy Hewitt.

The company will use the new space to produce fiber used to stuff cushions for outdoor furniture it makes at its Selma manufacturing facility. The Selma City Council approved Plantation Patterns for a 10-year property tax exemption and a one-time sales and use tax exemption.
