TD Bank has announced it will expand corporate operations at its Greenville, SC, campus and create about 1,400 new jobs in the next three to five years. Currently 160 employees work on the campus, which will experience a $17 million renovation of 300,000 square feet of space beginning early 2012.

In related news, the bank announced it also will add more than 200 new positions to operations in Lexington, SC. In total, TD Bank now employs about 1,300 associates in the state.

"This is a major investment in the future of TD Bank," said TD Bank's President/CEO Bharat Masrani of the new 1,600 jobs. to support our growth." He added that the Greenville regional hub will help accommodate the expansion of "America's Most Convenient Bank" from Maine to Florida.

Establishing Greenville as a regional headquarters is the latest step in TD's growth in the region, said officials. Last year the company expanded its mortgage operations, bank operations and Small Business Lending teams in South Carolina.
