Qorvo, the global provider of radio frequency solutions for mobile, infrastructure, and aerospace/defense applications plans to expand its presence with the opening of a new facility in Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina.

Formed in early 2015 with the merger of RF Micro Devices (RFMD) and TriQuint Semiconductor, Qorvo will add 100 new jobs over the next three years with an investment of $25 million.

New hires will consist of engineers working to enhance the company’s semiconductor products and mobile solutions. The company will be recruiting talent from local colleges and schools, including NC A&T State University, UNC Greensboro and Guilford Technical Community College.

“We appreciate the outstanding support provided by the State of North Carolina and Greensboro/Guilford County as Qorvo builds on its technology and product leadership to serve our many global customers,” said Qorvo President/CEO Bob Bruggeworth. “North Carolina offers an excellent economic climate for growth and innovation as we continue to expand here and in our other locations.”

Qorvo’s latest investment represents significant growth in the company since its inception in Guilford County in 1991. “Qorvo’s decision to grow and expand here is a testament to our workforce and entrepreneurial environment. We appreciate the company’s commitment to Greensboro and High Point as we increase the momentum in establishing Guilford County as a top destination to live and do business,” said Hank Henning, 2015 Board Chair of the Guilford County Commission.

Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan added, “One of the best endorsements for a community is when existing industries see the value and workforce advantages in expanding right here at home. We pledge to work hand-in-hand with Qorvo as we make it easier for businesses to grow and thrive. I’d like to thank Qorvo for putting Greensboro to work with high-skill, high-wage jobs.”

“The key to a successful community is collaboration, and I’d like to thank the following partners who worked tirelessly on the Qorvo project: North Carolina Commerce and EDPNC, Guilford County, City of Greensboro, High Point Economic Development Corporation, the Guilford County Workforce Development Board, NC A&T State University, UNC-Greensboro, Guilford Technical Community College, Duke Energy and Piedmont Natural Gas. We value or corporate neighbors at Qorvo and are absolutely committed to their long-term success,” said Chuck Burns, Chairman of Greensboro Partnership Economic Development.
